Epoxy resin Veropal ClearCast 300, for casting layers up to 5 cm

VEROPAL CLEARCAST 300 is a transparent epoxy resin that is used for the production of medium-sized castings and layers up to 5 cm. This resin is food contact certified, which means it is safe for use with food. It has moderate UV resistance, which means it is suitable for applications that may be exposed to sunlight.

VEROPAL CLEARCAST 300 is self-levelling, which makes application easier, and has a low viscosity, which means it is easy to debubble. During curing, it produces a high gloss and has minimal shrinkage. It has a medium processing time, so there is plenty of time to work with it. After curing, the cast is transparent and hard. This resin is odorless and has a liquid consistency with a simple mixing ratio. It can be easily colored as desired, or decorative items such as rhinestones, sequins or shards can be added to it. It can be used in several different applications, including the production of tables, lamps, jewelry, advertising items and for closing pores in wood. In addition, this resin can also be used to cast and bond various materials such as wood, concrete and glass, with the exception of plastics. When working with this resin, the ideal working temperature is between 19-23 °C, but it can also be used at lower temperatures with an extension of the curing time. After curing, the resin has a clear, glassy texture. Recommendation: When pouring permeable, porous materials, first close the pores with suitable penetration, or the processing temperature (mixing, casting) should not drop below 20 degrees. Celsius Major temperature changes should not occur during curing, this has a negative effect on the cured surface Technical description: This package contains 1.4 kg of resin, divided into two components: 1 kg of component A and 0.4 kg of component B. (In case you choose the variant with pigment, you will receive a third component of 150 g)

The procedure for working with Veropal ClearCast 300 epoxy resin is as follows:

CASTING: Mix components A and B of Veropalu Clearcast 300 in a dry and clean container. Mix slowly with a suitable stirrer for 3 minutes to minimize entrainment of air bubbles in the resin. Make sure that the bottom and inside walls of the container are well mixed as well to avoid insufficient mixing of the resin. If you do not use a vacuum to remove the bubbles, let the mixture sit in the container for about 10-15 minutes, during which most of the bubbles should disappear. Then pour the mixture into the mold and let it harden. Note that the mold should be provided with a separator if it is not made of non-stick material. The curing time depends on the thickness of the casting, with a lower temperature (below 19 °C) curing takes place more slowly, but it does not affect the final properties of the casting.

PENETRATION: When pouring porous materials such as wood or concrete, it is important to apply penetration. This closes the pores and prevents the ingress of bubbles and the sinking of the cast mass due to uneven absorbency of the substrate.

PIGMENTATION: To create colored transparent casts, the resin can be pigmented.

PROCESSING: All machining such as grinding, polishing, drilling, cutting or turning should only be done on a fully hardened casting. Ideally, wait at least 14 days after casting before you start processing.

CLEANING: Contaminated instruments should be cleaned with xylene or acetone as soon as possible after use. If the resin has already hardened, it can be removed by sanding or heating and then scraping with a spatula or scraper.

This procedure is important to the successful use of Veropal ClearCast 300 epoxy resin.
