Epoxy resin Veropal UV Plus 100, for casting layers up to 10 cm

VEROPAL UV PLUS 100 is a transparent epoxy resin with two components, suitable for the production of medium and large castings and layers up to 10 cm. It is extremely resistant to UV radiation, has low viscosity and self-leveling ability. In addition, it is easy to get rid of bubbles, has minimal shrinkage and produces a high gloss.

It has a long processing time, the hardened casting is transparent and hard. The resin is liquid, odorless and has a simple mixing ratio. It can be easily dyed and used to insert decorative items such as rhinestones or sequins. Use: e.g. for the production of dining tables, coffee tables, bar counters, large castings, doors, headboards, furniture, lamps, clocks, serving boards and advertising items. This resin is also suitable for sealing pores in wood and can be used to bond a variety of materials including wood, concrete and glass (except plastics). Features: transparent appearance after mixing components A and B, possibility of coloring with pigments. The optimal working temperature is around 19-23 °C (with the possibility of working at lower temperatures with prolonged hardening) and after hardening it acquires a clear and glassy surface. Technical description: The resin is supplied in a 1.4 kg package, where component A is 1 kg and component B is 0.4 kg. (If you choose the variant with pigment, you will receive a third component of 150 g)

The procedure for working with Veropal UV Plus 100 epoxy resin is as follows:

CASTING: Mix components A and B of Veropalu UV Plus 100 in a dry and clean container. Mix slowly with a suitable stirrer for 3 minutes to minimize entrainment of air bubbles in the resin. Make sure that the bottom and inside walls of the container are well mixed as well to avoid insufficient mixing of the resin. If you do not use a vacuum to remove the bubbles, let the mixture sit in the container for about 10-15 minutes, during which most of the bubbles should disappear. Then pour the mixture into the mold and let it harden. Note that the mold should be provided with a separator if it is not made of non-stick material. The curing time depends on the thickness of the casting, with a lower temperature (below 19 °C) curing takes place more slowly, but it does not affect the final properties of the casting.

PENETRATION: When pouring porous materials such as wood or concrete, it is important to apply penetration. This closes the pores and prevents the ingress of bubbles and the sinking of the cast mass due to uneven absorbency of the substrate.

PIGMENTATION: To create colored transparent castings, the resin can be pigmented using FTL pigments from our offer (link here).

PROCESSING: All machining such as grinding, polishing, drilling, cutting or turning should only be done on a fully hardened casting. Ideally, wait at least 14 days after casting before you start processing.

CLEANING: Contaminated instruments should be cleaned with xylene or acetone as soon as possible after use. If the resin has already hardened, it can be removed by sanding or heating and then scraping with a spatula or scraper.
