The Heskins company set itself the task of inventing a solution that would provide greater comfort when touching hands with cold and sliding handles.

• The manufacturer proactively accepted the challenge and created a solution for these demanding requirements. Heskins is known around the world as a leading expert in slip resistance. Expertise has been built up over decades - research has focused on the anti-slip aspect. A simple solution would be to use a series of safety grips, this would create a solution, but the abrasive material would have negative consequences for non-gloved users.
• Heskins decided that the innovative solution would be a completely new design in anti-slip materials - an asymmetrically embossed anti-slip surface. The H3418 handrail tape was born, which is aesthetically appealing and at the same time has the required high level of coefficient of friction (CoF). The dimpled patterned surface offers something different; for industrial use, it provides guarantees that all existing and anticipated slip resistance requirements will be met. All Heskins products are supplied with independent laboratory CoF values.
• The goal was to come up with a handle grip that wouldn't be rough on the bare hand and at the same time offer an attractive look that wouldn't distract - the H3418 wrap material easily accomplishes this. A plastic foil upper was chosen to achieve an insulating effect that prevents it from being cold to the touch. The plastic film works as a fantastic insulator preventing the cold from penetrating the user's hand, and a sub-surface PET laminated layer was added just to be sure.

• Since the H3418 handle tape is non-abrasive, it can be easily cleaned with all available cleaning methods. It feels like a rubber product to the touch, but as a plastic it has excellent dimensional stability. Handrail tape can be immediately applied to external and internal handrails, this is due to the materials inability to retain water, which prevents the surface from freezing and causing discomfort to the user.
